Dear Doris,

Received your letter this a.m. and I sure was glad to hear my sweety got home o.k.

I have just had a party of hunters come in from Boston to guide for five days and then in come Mr. Balcom for two weeks.  I am trying to move and I will say I am in a H___ of a mess.  Been raining to day and I have been up to fix the barn for my dogs to day and say does the old lady like the looks of my wife, thinks she is very cute but I told her I thought more than that.

Well I am down at Spears with Mr. Balcom and I am trying to write to you and listen to Balcom talking dogs so you can imagine what I might write but I want you to get this by Saturday so you won't  be disapointed.

Gee this place is some some lonesome for me since Tuesday morning probably you notice that I was helping my self pretty freely with the sneezers that morning you .left just was trying to keep from breaking out crying but had it out that afternoon.  I never in my life had such a feeling come over me when I see you going out of site.  I only hope that it isn't going to be long before you and I can be together in my new home.  It certainly is beautiful up here now as I was looking off from the back porch yesterday.  I had a funny imagination come over me thought you was right with.

Well I must close this now and will try to write you again by Sunday night.  So my dear remember what I told you if you don't hear from me as often as you should until after the season closes as I am trying to get all that I can (that is money) while I am able to and don't think that I am not thinking of you and I ?   ?  I surely would like to have you with me.

Remember me to all.

All my love,

Pete
