Good evening my dear and how is my little wife to night.  Received your letter to day and I will try and answer your one big question.

I surely would like to have you for my wife if you think that I am worthy of you. I dearly love you as you know I do.  If it was possible for me to marry you when you were here I would not let you gone home.  I am just living in hopes to be able to go down and get you and bring you back with me as my wife.  Now don't think for one minute that I would want you to come here and live with me without being my wife as I don't want your folks to loose any respects for you or me and I surely wouldn't want to injure your character by doing such a thing as that.  When I introduce you I want to feel proud as any man does with a lovely wife.  Now my dear the nights are long and weary for me just trying to build up a business so as I can support you and make you comfortable.  I think some times I am going through hell when I look back and see some of the setbacks that I have had in my short space of life only for the pleasant thoughts of you dear and if I only can have you is the only thing I have got to look forward to.  Viv. undoubtably has told you that I haven't had the best of family life regardless of my efforts to do what was right by them.  But however I must look forward and into the future as it is much more pleasant than to look back at the past.

I guess I am getting rather sentimental or the blues or crazy to night would just like to have you near me now.  I am going to try and make plans to come down to see you and have thanksgiving dinner with you if it is possible.

I won't know how many dogs that I will have this winter until after the season closes.  Just now I am very busy trying to get my dog yards up and guide partys to.  I have got a job all next week guiding a very wealthy man from Boston.  I had he and his party from Thursday until Tuesday noon they had pretty good luck so he has had two of his dogs sent up to me and has engaged me for next week.  Don't know just how long the dogs will be with me but he is a good payer while he last.

This moving at this time has hurt me terribly as I have to keep the dogs locked up in the barn all the time.  Just found an old man today that is helping me or i am helping him I guess that is more like it.  For he will hae to work along tomorrow.

Had some visitors to night stayed until 10:30 and I want to try and ease your mind a little by writing you this letter and letting you know before Saturday just how I feel.  I am not going to try and answer all your questions to night as it is getting real early in the morning just now.

Was very sorry to see Tick go but it just had to be done as I told you before I want you with me and she is one of the helping hands.  This surely is a pleasant little home and most everything in it to make you comfortable.  Just one thing lacking that I can see can you guess what it is.  Well I will tell you that it you my dear.

Well we must both cheer up and look forward to meeting each other in the near future so that is all I am living for now is just to have you with me.

So my dear X I will say good morning now X the clock just struck One XXX don't forget to send me your picture my sporting friend bob wire fences.

With love Pete
