My dear Doris,
Received your letter last night when I got home about 7 p.m. was very glad to hear from you as I am every letter that I get from my little wife.
Now about your idea of us getting married I surely want you for my wife and you can announce it in the papers or any where else and if it is possible for you and I to get married on Thanksgiving we will do it but I can't promise you must now as to me being able to get away at that time as you know this time of the year is the time we have to get what we need most and that is money for you and I to live on this winter. Now don't be disappointed or discouraged if we can't make our wedding day on Thanksgiving day possibly it may be before then as my dear if I lived nearer you we possibly would be together real often. But however unfortunately we are a few miles apart and that is the only thing that keeps me from seeing you. Had a pretty tough week this week especially Friday and Saturday. But in hopes this next week will be better.
The man I am to guide this week has just left here before I started this letter as the man I guided Friday and Saturday is a friend of his and they had a telephone conversation this a.m. before he left Boston. We had pretty good luck and I guess yours truly is fitting pretty good with him as a guide. Hope I can do the same with this man so he has plenty of dough and is ready to spend it if he is satisfied. He also has some dogs that he might leave with me for a while. How would you like to feed them when your hubby is away for awhile. (Yes you would)
Well my dear I am just working for you now and I only hope that I can get enough money this season that will carry us by as every year it is getting better for me and with you with me I know I will do a lot better. Tell Jack to hurry with those pictures as I am very anxious to see them especially the one of my wife.
Sorry the one of the four of us didn't come out as I would liked to have had one.
Tell Viv. I will answer her letter soon and remember me to Jack and her. Will have to say good night dear X once more X and remember my dear I am doing my best to be with you for Thanksgiving. Good night X
With love Pete
(over)
P.S.
Excuse the blots as I want you to get this Tuesday.
If ever I get time to get straighten out here I may be able to write or do anything else with out rushing so much have got to hurry with everything. The days don't seem long enough but by and by with nothing much to do I suppose they will be long.
