Dear Doris,

Received your letter and the clipping out of the paper.  Good thing my brother Charles is married or he would have a fit if he seen that.  Well I suppose your friends are very sorry to see you leave town.  But I will be glad to have you with me.  Just wished you was here to night.  God home late and I let a man store some beans in the barn and the fellow that trucked them up here thought he was doing me a favor by taking down a light that I had put up for him and in some way he blew out all the fuses and put my pump on the blink.  So that has caused me to be quite late getting my dogs taken care of.  Guess I will have to have some body come to look the electric pump over.

Sorry not to have been able to write you last night so you could have gotten a letter for Saturday.  Have got an early date for to morrow morning so will have to cut this short.  Will be very glad to see Sunday come as Mr. Balcom is going home and we can't hunt on Sunday so will have a chance to get caught up a little around here.  Got a wire from N.Y. City party coming Sunday p.m. or Monday a.m. to spend four days.  They will have me run ragged by the first of December.  If I can only hold up under it you and I will be together soon.  To bad we didn't start sooner as you probably would have enjoyed this season here as it has been very warm in fact to warm for this season of the year.

Have got Tick back again and I don't know just what the man is going to do about it.  But who cares, I had to take her out Thursday morning and we had very good luck with her don't know just what is the matter with the man that bought her.

Well my dear will be writing you all night if I don't stop now as five o'clock comes pretty fast.  When you are dead on your feet.  I wished I could get rid of this dam cold but don't suppose I will until after this hunting season is over.

Tell me what Viv. and Jack said about the announcement and steal one of those pictures of you and send it up to me.

Wished I could come down for a few days and we could talk things over and I could meet your family and bring my dear wife back with me.

Well I am going to say good night dear X and I may be able to write so you will get one letter Tuesday.  How will that be don't expect to many letters next week as these fellows are plenty of ? but don't worry about me.

Good night X good night XX

With love,

Pete
