Dear Doris,
Just a few lines tonight I am just about all in tonight thought I was going to have a days rest to day but it seems impossible was planning on staying in the house all day after I had taken care of my dogs but people do come just when you don't want them to. It was changed colder than the devil since yesterday morning had snow squalls today.
Had to dig out the long underwear this morning thought I would freeze all day today. This dam cold I can't seem to get rid of it I am taking your Scotts emulsion as you suggested. Have got a busy week ahead of me if I can make it.
Received your letter last night and was more than pleased to get it. I only wished you were here with me now. I know the time sure does drag until we meet again. I am very glad to know how you feel and don't worry about me disappointing you as for me coming after you for I am just as anxious as you are to have you up here with me.
I suppose your announcement has shocked them all down there but when they see you riding off in the dog wagon they will have something more to talk about. How about it.
If any thing serious happens I surely will have them notify you my dear as you are the one that I am working for now all my efforts are for yours and my interest now. Well I must say good night my dear little wife X good night XX
All my love
Pete
P.S. Don't be surprised or disappointed if you don't hear from me untill the last of the week as I will not get home very early in the evening for a few days.
