Dear little wife,
Received your letter to night. I am going to answer your question what do you mean lost your dog. I wished I could come down for a few days right now tonight if I could and I surely am coming after you just as soon as I can. I know it is hard for both of us to not to be able to see and talk things over together which we would have a better understanding much more than it is to write a letter. Now don't get impatient or start worrying or you will get me doing the same.
I am trying my best to do what I think is going to help us both for the future as it will be a long winter and then my dear if you bring your boxing gloves there will be plenty of room in the barn and we can get old man Spear for a referee when he thrashes out his beans to officiate as per Queensbury rules the bout between my dear loving wife and I. No spectators allowed in the arena. How will that be.
Sorry I can't get your picture or any of the other snaps but how ever I would much rather have you in person.
Don't worry about me and the drinks as I have more on my mind to look after just now than to get many of those under my belt and try to do business cause it can't be done and I realize the fact. Sure was glad to get such a long letter from you and am pleased to get short ones to. Really don't have the time to write much.
Had a good one pulled on me yesterday parked the car over where I did when you sat there and waited for me in the field off the road. Some body loosened the nuts off from my front wheel and when we was coming down the hill just by the spring the wheel fell off good thing we were going slow as probably we would have gotten hurt. Had to go to Gardiner and get some new nuts fortunately the garage man said it was a good thing we had not gone far as it would have chewed the tread off the bolts.
Well my dear it is the same old story must get a little rest just seems so I can get to bed early as I think that is all that ails me is not getting enough rest. Cold seems pretty good tonight not so much fever, but cough like H___ during the day and night. Remember what I have told you. Don't worry about me as it will up set me terribly my dear.
If I ever et time to look for my fountain pen I will use it possibly eliminiate some of these blots. Must say good night dear X good night XX
With love,
Pete
