Dear Doris,
Did not hear from you to day was the hospital to much for you or the election. I see by the paper you people in Mass. elected the great Irish democrat for Governor. Have got a party for this week end and Monday as it is a holiday in Boston. So you see it is all for us while the season last.
Will you let me know as to whether you want to be at home for Thanksgiving this year. I have spoken to Mr. Spear about feeding my dogs for a two or three nights and he said he would but he is working most of the time now picking chickens for a man across the street from me and they will be pretty busy up until Christmas time. So you see it will mean a lot extra work for him as he has 6 cows and his own chores to look after when he gets home.
I think that I had better send you the money to buy the rings with as you will be better satisfied as you can pick out what you want. Let me no what you think about it. Do you suppose, if you don't want to waite until Thanksgiving or after if I come down on Monday the 19th and get back here by Wednesday the 21st so I expect to have some dogs after the 20th to board until next season opens. Will not know until they arrive as you know these wealthy people say things sometimes that they really don't mean but however we have got to be prepared for them. Hang on to your insurance as long as you can we will try together to carry it we can talk this over when you and and I are here alone.
I think he whole neighborhood wood be peeking if you paraded around in B.B.D.s in the sun porch.
Well my dear little wife the hunging season will be soon over as I will be just as glad to see it over as I am to see it open again.
I am down to a feather weight now just raining to go places. If this season lasted much longer I think I would blow away with the wind. Have been going very steady since you people left here last month. But cheer up my dear you and I will be together soon in our little house on the hill free and clear from all catty women, where peace and quietness will change us both. You may not hear from me again until after Monday will try and write Sunday if I get a chance but expect to be busy Sunday if these people are staying over for Monday will probably have dinner with them at the hotel Sunday evening. That means a few sneezers before and after dinner. But don't worry about your little Pete as Monday morning it is business and you my dear is what I am thinking of most of all.
Let me know whether it is satisfactory to you about coming on Monday the 19th and about the rings and as for as having them engraved we can have that done afterward providing it is o.k. with you. If it isn't done before.
Will expect to hear from you before Saturday p.m.
Well my dear must say good night X. Good night XX.
With lots of love,
Pete
P.S. Here is a picture of Tick and the game Mr. Balcom and I shot one morning the first time we took her out after the man brought her back to me, very sorry I sold her as she sure is my dog and no one else. Seven birds in about 8 hours. The picture is in Spears door yard.
