The Park is open daily
from 9:00am to 5::00pm, closed Christmas.
It is usually very crowded in April
and July with the lowest attendance in December
and January. Our summers are hot and humid so please
dress accordingly. The winters are mild for the most part
and foggy.
Signs
are posted in the fort so visitors can
guide themselves in the fort going back in time to the
events of World War II
to the American Revolution.
No lodging or camping facilities exist in
the park.
For supplies and food there are
convenience stores on Sullivans Is.
The fort's visitor center is accessible
by wheelchair. Also, there is a wheelchair available at the
visitor center.
The fort has special programs during
April 12, 13 and June 28. Call for more info 843 3123.
DIRECTIONS
From
downtown Charleston take US 17 north to
Mt. Pleasant and turn right onto SC 703.
At the first stoplight on Sullivans
Is., turn right onto Middle Street.
The fort is about 1.5 miles down
Middle Street.
RESERVATIONS
Reversations
are required for school groups and other
educational groups. Also, one may
obtain Special Use permits approved on an
individual basis by calling 843 883 3123.
FACILITIES
At
the Visitor Center you will find museum
exhibits and interactive video. Each
1.5 hours a 22 minute film is shown in
the center. In addition, there are
Ranger programs at various times. Please
call for any additional information.
