Found this web site about the Hardison family by sheer luck!!!

My name is Lee Montford Hardison, from Plymouth, NC.....I live in "Little" Washington, NC now. I go by Sonny or Monty....My Father was Henry Tilghman Hardison, also from Plymouth, NC....He was an Electrician at Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth. His father was Lewis Montiford Hardison...where he was born, I don't know...(could you help if you know)?...It was around Plymouth I believe...He passed away when my father was a young man... My father had 3 sisters; Mary, Virgina, Monty Ward ???... My 1st cousin is D. L. Finch; Mary's son...He lives in Plymouth also...

I heard my father speak of Jasper, Uncle George and others (names I don't remember), We have family in the Jamesville area, with one being Betsy Hardison.... who taught school in Plymouth & Jamesville if my memory serves me right. She is still living I believe at the old home place around a church ??? close to Jamesville (off 64...)

My mother was known as Katy Etta Bland (Floogie) Hardison who taught school; 1st grade at Plymouth.

Lewis Montiford Hardison was born about that time before the Civil War, he married Molly Whit Tetterton and fathered 4 children: Mary Kathryn Hardison who married Dalton Finch Sr., Virginia Dare Hardison who married Hubert Edwards, Montie Ward Hardison who married ??? and Henry Tilghman Hardison (my father) who married Katy Etta Bland (my mother) and they had 2 children; (me) Lee Montford Hardison and George Edward Hardison....Lewis died when my father was a boy and my grandmother move to Roanoke Rapids with the children.

I'll get more information if this connects..

Reading the names of Jasper, James, George, Lemuel and Richard (know as Uncle Dick).

When I was a young boy, I heard the story of how 4 brothers came over from England/Ireland and how 2 moved the western part of NC; Albermarle/Charlotte/? and 2 to the east; martin county and around New Bern. I remember going to a large farm house outside Jamesville.
