T he information for your Arthur agrees with that in my records except for the name of his wife. There IS an older BRIDGET BROWN, but she was born in 1877; it is her younger sister, BEATRICE, who is born in 1881 and died in 1956.

This Arthur H Brown was a gunsmith by trade and I can remember him visiting my Father in Little Falls, NY in the 1940's (I was born in 1929) accompanied by Father's "Aunt Bea."
He talked about the (Belgian) Fabrique Nationale gun actions that he used, except that he gave it a distinctly American pronunciation--FAB REE QUEE  NAAH SHE KNOLL EE.

I can remember  Arthur's son, Frederick Brown, with his wife Mildred (nicknamed "Tut-tut," from her habit of "tut-tutting" Fred). Fred rode on his motorcycle and Mildred and their kids all were tucked into their sidecar.

Anyway I am thankful for your site. Alas, as it all too common, when these people were around to answer questions in the 1940's, I was the could-care-less teen-age brat who could hardly bear visits by relatives.  Sigh.

I will be exploring your site and hope to turn up more links.  Thank you.
