Jordan Wilson Davenport
was a great-great-grandson of Daniel Davenport.
When his old shack startled to crumble, he moved into the
Davenport house with his cousin Harriet
Ann Davenport. "Uncle Jurd" used to
sit across the road under the shade trees with a group of
neighborhood men. They used to sit and spin tall tales as
they sipped from their bottles. He died in 1972.
