Dear Edith,

I enclose this invitation thinking it would interest you, the nice girlie as you both remember her will soon now be married.  I can hardly realize it myself, but she is going to live four miles away, so that is a great joy to Douglas & me.  We both like her fiance very much.  He is a particularly nice young man, is in business with his father, who owns Potteries a little way out in the country and as they have been engaged for two years, & in & out of the house every day all that time, we know him pretty well, & are really very fond of him, & are so delighted that they are to be near us.

I meant to write you long ago.  I thank you for Lnaf.Shot photo of Jack & the p.c.s. many thanks to you for lending them.

Jack looks much the same as when we knew him but doubtless the years have made a slight difference as it has done on us, no longer young in years but I feel ? young in spirit, & that after all is the main thing.

I had a letter from G. Coombs says they were to be here on June 18 & 19th, isn't it odd that they should come just then, I do hope they can manage to stay for the wedding on 20th, for I'm afraid I shall not be able to do much for them the day before.

I shall love seeing them again & just wish it had not been at such a rushed time, when my thoughts will be so very occupied with the wedding.

Douglas wishes to be very kindly remembered to you both, & with love, I am

Your old friend,

Janet Gordon
