Dear Edith,
I have just returned from Norfolk and I have had bad weather nearly all the time I was here. I worked on the things Saturday after I got there, looked over Aunt Mary/May's? things burned up all the old letters, clippings and hats, sorted out a lot of old things put them in the old hamper and Carl is going to take them to ? to give to S. Army. I found some old glass ware, 2 saucer disher, 4 old goblets, 2 sherbet dishes, all old I think, ? I saved then and Carl has them. There was a box full of sheets, pillow cases, table cloths, napkins, spoons, spreads, bed quilts and the lord only knows what.
Any? I put them in a box for there was to much to send by P. Post. I think you can use eveything for something if you want me to send it before you leave the Point but let me know at once and I will have Carl ship it to you from ? Norfolk. I also found an album has Marys? and Father's also mine in it also. C. K. Hunt and sister of one of Aunt Autheda? J., Aunt Ad" this I brought home with me so you can look it over some time. The barn? nearly full of dishes of Aunt Mary's. Carl has thought it best to take it out of house.
These are the things i took up to Clarks, Aunt Mary's spool beadsted, the white ? Rocker, our old rocker, 1 hitchooks chain & 3 other old chairs. All of my things, books and other things also high chair there are all in Mr. Clark's barn if anything happens to me.
While I was there this morning a man came in the house and looked around and the table up stairs in ? room. I sold it to him for 5.00. He said he would be he 50 a piece for our 5 dining room chairs and Carl said don't do it for I think I can get more for them. All he would give for Grandma's bedsted was 2.00. So you can see they won't bring much down this say. Our black walnut table he would not take at any price. I think I can get rid of this later. If the place is sold ? will have to have an auction any way. I can't see any other way out of it. He wanted to go in Stone House and I told him I had nothing to do with that and would not let him in if I did for the thing was not mine
The Clarks were find and Mary took me down in the car and came after me every Sunday and all this saved a lot of time. I also had no end of good things to eat but Lord how it did rain nearly all the time and I can glad its over with.
Let me hear from you at once about the box if you decide not to have it sent now it will keep all ok for the thing are in a tite box and will keep all right. From the bridge to W. Norfolk to Norfolk they are working on filling in and making it wider also have changed the river in 2 places. mrs. V? is dead and buried last week.
Helen Kendall was struck by an auto and killed last week a very sad thing but her own fault i think every one seems to think it was.
Well I am tired and I am going to bed.
With love o you both
