Letters written by Swain

This letter was addressed to John D. Dear Friend,

I suppose you are enjoying yours vacation.  The "clan" met with us Thursday eve to talk over Christmas.  We were sorry you & Miss Minnie? couldn't meet with us.  We are not having any lively time this winter, our  ? and I console ourselves making plans for next Summer.  Possibly you may have heard about our ? Party?  If  ? come ? asked for a "full dress" occasion.  Believe me I am

Very Sincerely Yours
