Letters written by Swain

This letter was addressed to John D. Swain, West Norfolk, Conn.  On the back someone has printed "FIRST LETTER FROM EDITH (EXCEPT NOTE.)."  Letter is dated Oct 27, 1890.

Dear John,

My thoughts go back to that lovely Oct afternoon a picturesque road and everything lovely around me which must be the reason I promised to write you a letter.

I did not find as many babies as

(will finish this transcription later, too hard to read, will go on with the others for now)
