Notes for PERMELIA COLLINS:
Nellie Patrick's
letter to Nancy Collins stated that the name of he daughter
Permelia is questionable. This is supported by the NC Census
reports. Other spellings found are Permeola, Penelope, Pumelia
and Permelle.
Some family
members said that Joe Collins referred to his sister as Penelope.
Nellie Patrick's letter indicated that Permelia(?) died sometime
after her brother, "John Bill". Permelia is not listed
as an entitled heir of John W. or Emanuel Collins. She was living
at the time of the 1880 Census. The 1870 census lists Permeola,
age 8 living at home.
